The ARU Business School Conference – Insider News!

The Learning, Teaching and Student Engagement Conference is held once per year by the Business School faculty, and this year I was invited to represent ARU College Students as a member of the Student Advisory Board (SAB), an opportunity which is part of the Business School Intern Programme.  I honestly felt honoured to attend such a prestigious event and witness the celebration of incredible achievements and awards presented by Dr.Sally Everett, our Deputy Dean and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aletta Norval, and also discuss the priorities for improvement within the Business School. This was a unique opportunity to get to know more about the faculty, staff and their strategy to be part of a select group of world-class Business Schools.

This year’s conference was in Chelmsford, at the ARU campus that is dedicated to mathematical sciences such Finance, Engineering, Accounting, and others.  We had the opportunity to get involved with many collaborative activities and attend talks held by professors that were sharing their experiences, and best teaching practices with their fellow professors. We also learned more about the new partnership between the Business School and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) that will give business students a considerable competitive advantage in this fierce competitive job market.

During this conference, I could discuss employability (a key priority of the SAB panel for 2018) with the Business school staff, and by the end of the day, all members of the Student Advisory Board (SAB) had a better understanding of the Faculty and the fantastic people that run it.
