Overview

ARU College is the partner college of Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), Cambridge and Chelmsford, England. ARU is rated TEF Gold for teaching and was voted the Times Higher Education (THE) University of the Year 2023. ARU College offer undergraduate and postgraduate pathways to a huge variety of fantastic degree courses at ARU. Our Cambridge campus is home to our Science Centre, a £45m Centre for research and study in psychology, life sciences, biomedical and forensic science. As well as the Cambridge School of Art which houses the Ruskin Gallery. Our modern Chelmsford campus is home to one of the largest business schools in the East of England, based in the award-winning Lord Ashcroft Building.

Academic requirements

Studying Mechanical Engineering at ARU

ARU College offer a pathway into a large variety of Engineering degrees at ARU. Including Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics, Quantity Surveying, and Software Engineering. A foundation in Engineering, Computing and Technology is structured around projects working with others from different degree programmes, enabling students to begin to develop this extremely important transferable skill. During your Foundation Year you will study modules such as Physics for Engineers, Engineering Design, and Fundamentals of Computing which will prepare you for the remainder of your chosen Engineering degree at ARU.

Requirements to Join Us

English Language

The language of instruction at ARU College is English. To attain entry into the undergraduate or postgraduate pathway, you must be able to demonstrate you have a suitable level of English proficiency. The English requirement for all ARU College courses is: IELTS overall score of 5.5 (with at least 5.5 in each of the four components).

Brazil:

  • Foundation Year – Satisfactory pass in Certificado de Ensino Médio
  • First Year – Certificado de Ensino Medio with Grade 6 – 7.9 (Business only) Certificado de Ensino Medio with Grade 7.5 – 7.9 (all other subjects)
  • Pre-masters – Degree or 3 year Diploma equivalent from a recognised institution following successful completion of 15 years education

Ecuador:

  • Foundation Year – Completion of Bachilerato (Academic) with 55% average
  • First Year – Completion of Bachilerato (Academic) with 65% average
  • Pre-masters – Completion of Degree with a pass, or equivalent
