Student Story: Nirali Sharma

My name is Nirali Sharma, I am currently in my second year of my BSc Public Health degree at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford. Though I was born in Zambia I later moved to India and my experiences across different countries have inspired my passion for helping others.

ARU College: Celebrating Success at the ARU Graduate Showcase

On Thursday 4 June, the ARU Graduate Showcase took place at the Ruskin Gallery at ARU Cambridge. We are incredibly proud to celebrate two exceptional ARU College successes! Natalia Rodriguez Romero and Dilara Otu both began their ARU journey with an Art Foundation Year, and last week picked up prizes for outstanding final year projects.

ARU Ranked 5th in the UK for Sports Science

Anglia Ruskin University’s Sport Science degrees are consistently high ranking, and this year have placed 5th in the UK in the Guardian University Guide 2026. The ranking focuses on areas such as the quality of teaching, student continuation, and graduate career prospects.  ARU scored 92.5% for the quality of teaching, based on feedback from final year students in the National Student Survey. In addition to this, 86% of graduates have either found graduate level jobs or engaged in further study within 15 months of graduating (Guardian University Guide 2026).

ARU Alumni to ARU College Lecturer: Denise Sparrow’s Story

Denise Sparrow’s journey with ARU has come full circle. She first joined the university in the early 1990s as a Legal Practice Administrator in the Law Department. Working closely with law students reignited her passion for learning, and so she began studying part-time for a BA (Hons) in Business and European Studies in 1994. Years later, Denise has returned to ARU College to teach and support our students. We asked her to share a little about herself and why she loves teaching at ARU!
